The temperature has dropped which means it's time brush up your cool-weather styling skills to keep your fashion game uncompromised even in the winter. While the season is usually pleasant even with the chill in the air, it’s fascinating how various Indian cities have different winters. We spoke to a few fashion lovers from across cities about what they are looking forward to wearing this season. From everyday style to the party wear, here’s some fashion inspiration coming your way.

Winters in Delhi are quite extreme so you need to be ready with your chunky knitwear when you step out to tackle the cold. But with Delhi being the fashion capital of the country, the city lets no amount of winter affect its fashion sense. Dr Anindita Bose from Delhi shares her winter style statement.
With the kind of winter in my city, I prefer keeping my winter staples classic and practical. I pull over a long jacket or coat over my denim and body-hugging turtle neck sweater. I usually complete the look with a pair of boots to keep me fashionable and warm. For the New Year’s Eve party, I am looking forward to wearing a fitted midi dress paired with a plush and super cosy teddy jacket. Also, I’m going to ditch the heels and wear sneakers instead for a cool street style twist.

After the heavy monsoons, a pleasant winter is much welcomed in the city of dreams. Fashion in Mumbai has always been subtle and classy. Here’s what stylist Kavisa Rebello Almeida has to say about her winter style -
Winter in Mumbai is the best time to wear soft fuzzy sweaters on mini skater skirts with tights or my favourite denim. But I personally love wearing my mini dresses with tights (which I can't do all year long) and yes, my jackets for layering. For the parties, I like mixing textures and adding a dash of shimmer to my look. So this year I’m going to go for a sequin dress paired with an oversized blazer and snakeskin heels.

Kolkata experiences a beautiful winter. People tend to relax, travel and the city usually bustles with handloom exhibitions and music festivals during these months. Anusuya Yadav from the city shares her preferred winter style -
We have cool winter mornings, so when I’m off to work I layer my woollen tops with coats or a furry hoodie jacket. If it is one those pleasant mornings I prefer just a scarf and a light jacket. My style is casual most of the times, so if I go out for the New Year’s eve I would keep it to simple denim and a top combination layered with a jacket to keep me warm. Also, I'd wear sports shoes to keep me comfortable.
