There’s nothing quite like some good comedy to lift your spirits up – whether it’s plain ol’ stand-up comedy or a show that leaves us gasping for breath in between fits of giggles. If you’re looking to get the laughs right in your living room, pick from one of these five shows – they’re truly the best ones out there on Indian television right now.

You can rarely go wrong with Jerry Seinfeld – as co-creator and actor on the hit sitcom, Jerry left the audience in splits with his depictions of mundane daily life. Featuring a handful of Jerry’s friends and acquaintances, particularly best friend George Costanza (Jason Alexander), former girlfriend Elaine Benes (Julia Louis-Dreyfus), and neighbour across the hall Cosmo Kramer (Michael Richards), the series catapulted Jerry into instant stardom and made him the highest paid comedian in the world.
