Her fitness journey started out as a New Year's resolution and has now led her to become one of the most inspiring fitness experts in the industry. We spoke to Sheena about her goals, her transformation and how it changed her - physically and mentally. Here's what she had to say:: 

What are the first three things you do as soon as you wake up?

Sheena: I'm usually up by 7 AM. The first thing I do after brushing my teeth is put on my shoes and get in my 4000 steps while replying to clients on WhatsApp. I also spend the last 5-10 minutes of my walk listening to a guided meditation.

How often do you work out and what does your workout routine include?

Sheena: I work out 5 days/week following a bodybuilding-style routine and do an upper-lower split.

When and how did you discover your passion for fitness and overall well-being?

Sheena: I found out in 2015 that at 35% body fat I was obese. I was also struggling with digestive issues, early signs of spondylitis and a state of constant fatigue. It was then that I started slowly working on my health. The more I learnt and the more I did, the more passionate I became.

5 foods or snacks you always stock up on?

Sheena: - Vegetables like carrots, bell peppers, cucumbers are extremely filling, extremely nutritious and very low on calories
- Fruits
- Protein (a ton of eggs, some meat, some protein powder)
- Oatmeal (I love my morning oats)
- Non-alcoholic beer (I recently quit drinking - 9 months sober - and these help me immensely)

What is the most significant change your transformation has brought about?

Sheena: There are definitely a few to choose from, like discipline and patience but the biggest has to be a positive impact on my mental health. I am able to do things I once deemed impossible.

Your absolute favourite gym outfit essentials include?

Sheena: High waist leggings and Converse shoes!

Your advice to people who are just starting out their fitness journeys?

Sheena: Better today! You don't need to focus on being perfect, you just need to be better today than you were yesterday.

What is your resolution for 2020?

Sheena: I have (quite) a few, like learning a sport to having visible abs. But I think my biggest goal is to focus on expanding my content and guides (can't say more than that for now 🤐)
