Regardless of the type of watch you own, taking good care of it is very important. Some of the things you’ll need to protect it against are dust and stains, scratches, moisture and even UV rays.
A good watch is certainly built to last, and maintaining it is not as difficult as it may seem. So whether you’re investing in an expensive watch, or if you're simply unsure of the best way to take care of your timepiece, our 5-step guide will tell you all you need to know.
Protect The Watch FaceThe watch face is most prone to damage – it needs to be protected from moisture, extreme temperatures and rough surfaces. Water and humidity may cause condensation under the crystal (the transparent cover that protects the dial) and the change in temperature can also shorten the battery life. Meanwhile, rough surfaces will leave scratches on the crystal, damaging it. To avoid causing damage to the watch face, take off your watch before you come in contact with water or when you're uncertain about the temperature. It’s also advisable to take of your watch before you tackle chores or any other physical activities. Like this article?
