Mammas are the real superheroes, they really are! Who else can find your missing sock for the umpteenth time, cook your favourite meal to cheer you up, wake up early just to wake you on time, and reach for that 10am meeting at work! They’re a force that singlehandedly powers up our lives but what powers their own? We asked 5 moms about their trusted sidekicks, and here’s what these moms/boss ladies had to say about their one favourite gadget that eases their way so they can continue to save the day.

Her Super Gadget: iPhone

Here’s why

It is an absolute powerhouse of tools. The tools we can access would have cost thousands just two decades ago. I remember someone demonstrating at a conference that the combined value of a smartphone is over 900,000 dollars! When you add up the camera, video camera, videoconferencing, CD player, stereo, gaming features, cell phone, watch, alarm, calculator, entertainment system, learning system, media collection, information systems etc. – the true value is incredible!

Her Super Gadget: Nespresso machine

Here’s why

I start my morning with a small shot of Espresso and a run, and my day is just wonderful. It’s my “go to buddy” for all things sleepy or dull and boring in my life. It makes me full of YEAAHHS, in case I’m not feeling like that naturally.

Her Super Gadget: Smartphone

Here’s why

I pick this because it just has a way to make my life more organised and linked. I can keep tabs on everything needed and it helps me keep in touch with what I need to get done during the day too. As a working mom, a smartphone really helps me stay connected, not only at work but with my kids too. My kids are always a call away and I can find out how their day has been and what they’ve been up to. With the kind of work I do, travelling is mandatory and inevitable; but I’ve always been able to stay in touch with the ones close to me with apps like WhatsApp, Skype, Video calling and the works. Even the use of WhatsApp groups keeps me in sync with the kid’s homework, their activities, family groups and so on. It’s a gadget that helps me organise and keep everything on point and in the loop.

Her Super Gadget: Microwave

Here’s why

A microwave would be my life saver! It makes cooking easier and faster, and my life simpler. It’s a versatile gadget and there’s no need to worry about food getting burnt, as compared to the gas. And it can be used by people who don’t know how to cook too, like my husband!

Her Super Gadget: iPhone

Here’s why

The one gadget that makes my life easy is my iPhone – I use it to schedule my day, answer my emails, FaceTime my son when I’m at work and check the cameras at home. It is easy to monitor everything through the phone. It has all my music on it, all my to-do lists and all the pictures and videos of my son.
