With every new Samsung Galaxy S phone, this flagship range just keeps getting better. Everyone thought the S6 was a catch at a point, but the S7 and S7 Edge took over the market like a storm too. And now that the S8 and S8+ are almost here, expectations are running all-time high. Here’s what the latest Samsung flagship will feature.
Samsung has finally let go of the signature home button design. The Samsung Galaxy S8 series will have a bezel-less design which the company is calling the Infinity display. While the Galaxy S8 has a 5.8-inch display, the galaxy S8+ will be 6.2-inches. Both of them will have Super AMOLED QHD resolution and will display the best possible colours with its UHD association. Both of the phones will have just the right amount of curves and Edge-functionality build.
Both the Galaxy phones will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835/Exynos 8895 64 bit (10nm-based) processor. It will be the first series to debut this all new processor. Samsung claims the Galaxy S8 and S8+ feature the "industry's first 10nm processor, enabling heightened speed and efficiency."
Samsung’s own virtual assistant Bixby will also be debuting on the Samsung Galaxy S8. Using it will enhance the way a user can interact with their phone. The phones will come with a dedicated hardware button to access Bixby.
Samsung also announced a new feature called DeX which is like Microsoft’s Continuum. It will be a mobile-to-PC transition tool that can turn the S8 into a desktop which can then give the users an Android-based desktop-like experience.
The S8 will come preloaded with Samsung Connect that lets the individual manage and monitor all the smart devices in their home from one unified app. Currently, Samsung Connect is compatible with only a bunch of Samsung IoT-enabled gadgets but will soon be able to support third-party devices with the SmartThings hub too.
Both the S8 and S8+ will have a rear camera with 12-MP dual pixel technology, optical image stabilisation and f/1.7 aperture. With this technology, it can perform better in low-light conditions. The front 8-MP camera will now support shooting photos in autofocus mode that will help you take better selfies.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 come with a 3,000mAh battery and the Galaxy S8+ has a 3,500mAh battery. Both of them will support fast and wireless charging.
