DesignFor starters, if you have a preference among the two, it is going to be with the form factor. While the realme Watch has a square-dial design, the Mi Band 5 maintains the wrist-band design of the series. For those looking for something similar to a wristwatch, you might want to pick the former, while those looking for something with a smaller footprint might choose the latter.
DisplayWith its form factor, the realme Watch features a bigger display with a 1.4” 320x320 LCD display. The Mi Band 5, on the other hand, comes with a 1.1” 126 x 294 AMOLED display. So, those looking for a bigger screen to fit more information can pick the realme Watch, while those looking for an AMOLED display with a better promised contrast experience can go for the Mi Band 5.
SensorsThe realme Watch comes with an Accelerometer, heart rate and SpO2 sensors which allows it to track 14 sports modes along with 24-hour heart rate monitoring and blood oxygen level monitoring as required. According to reports, the Mi Band 5 comes with a three-axis acceleration sensor, three-axis gyroscope and a PPG heart rate sensor, as well as SpO2 in a higher variant, and support up to 11 workouts. The two are matched in this department.
Other areasBoth the models feature a magnetic charging mechanism, which means you don’t have to pop-out the central unit to charge it separately. Additionally, both feature interchangeable straps.
OverallAt this point, there’s no clear choice between the two for everyone. It depends on your design and display preferences, as well as any possible variants that the Mi Band 5’s global version launches with. Stay tuned to this space for more updates.
