In one of the biggest flubs in live television history, La La Land was announced as the winner for the Best Picture award at the Oscars 2017 ceremony. However, there was a twist in the tale and it was soon revealed – as the victory speeches started rolling out – that there had been a mistake. It was Moonlight that won the prestigious award.
Turns out that there had been an error and someone handed presenters Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway the wrong envelope. But that wasn’t going to stop the Twitterverse from going absolutely bonkers:
