We did spend a few sleepless nights waiting for the new Doom game but there is one upcoming game that is keeping us dreamy eyed even during the day.
Heard of No Man’s Sky? We are pretty sure you have.
This upcoming space exploration adventure game may look like just another sci-fi epic. However it does inject one major element, which is the possibility of a near endless adventure in outer space. The game was first showcased at E3 in 2014 and it will debut on the PS4 worldwide in August this year. In a nutshell you are supposed to make your way to the centre of the universe, yep good luck with that.
What makes this game stand out is the fact that the world or outer world is procedurally generated. Which means every time you visit a planet revolving around a certain star, it will have its unique properties and no two instances will be the same. Each galaxy in the game can be home to 18 quintillion (1.8×1019) planets, each offering their varied ecosystem of different climate, wildlife and plant system. As you play the game, your findings and adventures will be logged into a database.
This is where the gameplay gets interesting as you explore planets, trying to find if the soil is useful or if the plants offer something that could be of use to you. Remember those times when you ran your little science projects in the backyard? Well No Man’s Sky lets you channel your inner scientist by allowing you to run experiments in the planet you choose fit. You can even look for minerals that you could later trade with other gamers, if you come across one or you could even become a space pirate!
No Man’s Sky is scheduled to release worldwide in August 2016 and we truly hope it lives up to the hype.
