I confess, I hate fashion trends. The idea of investing time, energy, shopping budgets and emotion into something that will only last the duration of a season. As a millennial who is torn between rent, bills and trying to make it in the city while still trying to look like a cast member from Girls, fads are something I cannot afford to experiment with. But every so often, a trend storms through the runways and high streets like a sartorial hurricane and you don’t want to miss the boat. Especially when the trend speaks to you like the two of you were just meant to be. The trend that’s doing the talking on day one of Lakmé Fashion Week is what I like to call Pajama Party. Is it any wonder that most designers ended up showing creations that instantly made you think about your cozy bed? After all, these are difficult times and while all you would want to do is Netflix and stay in bed, life has other plans. The best you can do, in this situation, is to get up and carpe diem—in your PJs. Here are a few ideas on how to achieve total fashion salvation through comfort. Take that, life!

The Work PJs

HR dress codes be damned, this ensemble from 11.11 eleven/eleven has us thinking Monday dresssing with Sunday vibes.

The Layered Nightshirt

The old comfy tunic you sleep in? Make it brunch ready by layering it with a skirt or pants underneath and stay cozy throughout your ritual Sunday brunch with your friends. Props to you for taking a leaf out of Eka’s footsteps and keeping the whole look monochromatic.

The Going-Out PJ Set

Can’t make up your mind between staying in and going out? Do both by wearing a pair of opulent pajamas to the club. This luxe gold rendition, replete with statement sleeves (another trend this season), from QUO by Ishita Mangal is your best bet.
