Monsoon afternoons and evenings at any of India’s rain-drenched hill stations are usually spent with a tea cup in hand, and a plate of pakkoras within arm’s reach. But the next time you plan a getaway this season, pack your cocktail-making set so you can shake up some bracing drinks for those days when the rain comes down and the temperature drops.

We got Jackie Matai, co-founder of Aspri Spirits, an importer of international wines and spirits, to recommend some of his favourite warm cocktails – made using deliciously warm coffees and hot chocolate – which are perfect for the monsoon season.
