Sarang Patil is one of India's most well-known male fashion bloggers. His 177K followers on Instagram (he goes by the handle @heisgotthestyle; it’s the name of his blog as well) will attest to that. A former business management student, Patil says he has always had an affinity for the arts and adds that he always dreamed of carving out a career in the fashion industry.  As a result he landed a job as a stylist; his blog came later, in 2014. “Blogging was the new thing for fashion enthusiasts then,” he says. “I started the blog mainly because then, men were orthodox in terms of clothing and following trends. I wanted to make sure men in India had a basic understanding about fashion and trends.” A little over three years later, Patil has collaborated with some of the most popular high street and luxury brands in India. An authority on men’s style in India, we spoke to Patil about his personal style preferences for the season – and how you can get them too. Here's what you need to know:

1) What does style mean to you?

Style to me is all about versatility.

2) What's your personal style like?

I would describe my personal style as [styles] that has a twist of pop culture or a vintage vibe.

3) One style do and one style don't?

One style do is: denim on denim. I think denim is the safest, and an essential piece of clothing in a guy's wardrobe. When you're in doubt, opt for denim-on-denim as it will never go out of style.   One style don't is: anything with too much print. Prints are seasonal. I think, if you wear last season's prints the following season, your outfit would definitely look outdated. Prints are also very tricky to carry off. One mismatch and your outfit will turn into a disaster.

4) How would you style the following:

A Printed Shirt

I like styling my printed shirts with shorts or trousers.

Linen Pants

They go best with nautical stripes.

A Polo Tee

A Polo tee will look great with well-fitted work wear joggers.

Cropped Chinos

Cropped chinos go very well with a denim shirt.

A Bomber Jacket

I like wearing my bomber jacket with a pair of well fitted trousers. Images Courtesy: Sarang Patil Get the newest & nowest styles on sale at Tata CLiQ’s CLiQ CLiQ Sale. Click here to shop menswear.
