Drew Barrymore is in the news again. Only this time, it’s for her design skills rather than her acting chops. The award-winning actor, who is already a brand ambassador for comfy shoe brand Crocs, has leant her design sensibilities to a limited edition collection for the brand.
Fun and quirky, the Drew Barrymore ♥ Crocs Chevron collection embodies the actor’s modern-boho style. In fact, Barrymore’s versions of Crocs’ Classic Clog, the Crocband Clog and the Sloan Slide–available exclusively on Tata CLiQ for the next couple of weeks – is inspired by a playful, everyday authentic sensibility women of all ages can relate to.
Just in time for summer, this collection features the season’s hottest colours – bright yellow and tomato red, balanced with cool blue. The Crocs Chevron collection is also inspired by the Venice Beach babe, another side of Drew’s personality and taste. The graphic detailing is on-point, tying into the larger global, tribal trend. Embellishments include bead clusters and tassels.
Deepak Chhabra, CEO & MD, Crocs India, adds: “Drew purposefully kept the branding very minimal with the collection. Each style includes a small heart logo with a capital letter ‘D’, which replaces the rivet. The collection is also inspired, broadly, by Drew’s love and affection for her two children. Drew sees herself first and foremost as a mother so it was important to create a collection, which comes in styles for both moms and her daughters, that told this story.”
Barrymore adds, “I really love the Chevron Collection. I think the designs we came up with are extremely fun and wearable, which makes them perfect for moms and kids. There’s a great sophistication to the colour tones we used, but also this inspired playfulness.”
In an interview with Us magazine, she adds that her daughters, Olive and Frankie, love their Crocs. “Also, as any parent knows, that struggle of getting shoes on and getting out the door can quickly turn into a 30-minute battle. The slip-on design, fun colors and familiar characters that Crocs design into their shoes helps with the whole “put your shoes on” battle,” told the magazine.
There’s a Mother’s Day gifting idea, right here.
