Keeping in mind the love Indian women have for long luscious hair, he says, "During this lockdown, don't let your hair drag you down. Give your hair a trim and the bounce it needs with a few simple steps. This layering technique will work for most women with long hair." So, here's what he has to say.

Step 1

You can do this with wet or dry hair but I personally recommend wet hair as it's easier to work with.

Step 2

Part your hair in the middle from the top of your forehead all the way to the back of the nape.

Step 3

Bring the entire front section of your hair from the crown forward judging the length of where you want to cut your long layer. It's usually best at approximately the chin area but will differ for longer lengths.

Step 4

Once you've got hold of this section, bring it up to the level of your eyebrows in a horizontal line while keeping your head straight at all times. Now, cut in a simple blunt line. The blunt line cut will keep your ends looking thicker than usual.

Step 5

Next, bring in your entire left section (from the nape) forward to meet the middle section from before and then bring it up to the level of your eyebrows and cut in a horizontal line like you did earlier. Repeat this with the other section too.

Step 6

It is important to note that you try and keep the same angle as much as possible so that the hair cut is better balanced. Crown forwatrd to eyebrow - straight line - nose area.

Step 7

You're done. Now simply blowdry your hair as usual and check if you've got the length as per your preference.
