Dear Que,
I'm turning thirty in a couple of days and if there's one thing that I have promised myself to change this year, it has got to be my old shopping habits. Over the years, I have realised that I have made quite a few over-the-budget purchases that I rarely use and see myself buying way too many pieces from fast-fashion stores that I have literally worn not more than once. It's time I revamp my wardrobe and I'm not sure where to start. Please help me out.

Thank you,
The Concerned Fashionista.

Dear Concerned Fashionista,
We totally agree. As you approach your landmark birthday, making wise choices and smarter decisions when it comes to fashion is a great idea. It's time to let go of your old shopping patterns and start investing in a quality wardrobe. Choosing versatile pieces that you can style in multiple ways is a cool way to start building your closet. To help you out, we recommend four different ways that can change the way you shop.

Don't Limit Your Shopping To Only Fast-fashion Stores

Fast-fashion keeps us up to date with the latest trends and styles but as trends come and go, the styles that aren't trendy anymore just lie in our wardrobes and just occupy space. While some pieces may be versatile enough to mix and match every season, we all have those two or three pieces that we wear not more than once.

Don't Be Afraid To Elevate Your Style

It's time you experiment with new ways of styling your clothes and buying pieces that are way different from what you bought in your 20s. Look for classy, minimalist and sharp cuts that you can wear with a skirt, denims or your favourite pair of trousers.

Don't Be An Impulsive Shopper

Your 30s are when you start to shop smarter and make wise decisions when it comes to spending on statement pieces. You need to get rid of the idea of shopping for every event you may have on your schedule or you may be left with a closet full of clothes that you've rarely worn.

Don't Buy Clothes That Don't Fit

Your 20s may have led you to buy clothes that are a size smaller in a way to motivate you to lose a few inches. Now that you're 30, shop for pieces that are comfortable and make you feel confident. Image Courtesy:
