Dear Que, I love wearing white sneakers, but one trip out and they're covered in dust. I've always wondered how celebrities and bloggers always seem to step out in the whitest of white sneaks. Do they have a new pair on each time or are there a few cleaning hacks and tricks that I'm not aware of? Please help me with a few tips! Thanks, Sneaker Lover. Dear Sneaker Lover, We definitely understand your situation. White sneakers are a wardrobe essential now more than ever, especially since they go so well with everything. There's a lot you can do to keep them looking clean and as good as new - just follow these tips.

Wash With Soap & Water

A simple solution of soap and water works best for cleaning off mud and small stains. Dip a soft cloth in the solution and rub gently to remove small stains.

Clean Tough Stains With Vinegar

Finding it tough to get rid off tough stains? This cooking ingredient will do the trick. Put a few drops of vinegar on a soft cloth and place it on the stain for a few seconds. Rub gently and voilà, your sneakers will look as good as new.

Use A Toothbrush For Those Hard To Reach Spots

A toothbrush is a magic tool when it comes to cleaning your shoes. To wash of dirt on say, the bumper of your shoe, scrub with a toothbrush dipped in warm soap water. Scrub gently, till your shoes will look sparkling white.

If All Else Fails, Try Bleach

Use bleach for that snow white sparkle, but make sure you dilute it first. Mix one part bleach with five parts water; dip a toothbrush in the solution and scrub the shoes gently. Rinse it off with warm water.

Clean Your Laces Gently

To clean your laces, soak them in warm water and later, scrub them with a mild soap so as to keep the fibres intact without weakening the laces. Leave them to air-dry. Images Courtesy: Shutterstock.com
